Power Up With Purity

Faith, life, Purpose

Over the years, I’ve learned that purity is not just about abstaining from sex. Purity is not a prescription of a list of rules and regulations to keep people in line with the will of God… Purity is beautiful, empowering, and liberating! Chasing purity can’t be forced; otherwise, it’s tainted and oppressive… It’s about trading in our own ways for the perfection of God. His perfection is derived from His holiness and righteousness, so we represent Him like He should be rep’d by being of reflection of His nature out of pure love for Him.

In every turn of our lives we have options and all of those options can be confusing. It’s like me when I go to a restaurant and deciding what I want to order. I thoroughly enjoy food and so I want a great experience eating a meal outside of home. Unfortunately for me, the more options available, the more confused I get. I can feel anxiety creeping up every time the server approaches the table, because I want to carefully consider everything and choose the best meal. Sometimes I want it all, but of course that’s not reasonable.

Such is life, when trying to make good decisions consistently. There are a lot of alternatives that seem good… Sometimes we’re tempted to straddle between two different lifestyles in an attempt to get the best of both worlds. But we can only walk along one path at a time as we can only serve and follow one Master.

No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:24

There is a permissible will (the will that God allows because we travel in that direction according to our own understanding) or the perfect will (the will that we’re living out as a result of us consistently relying on the Holy Spirit lead and guide us). I don’t know about you, but I want to live in the perfect will of God, because what He has for me is exponentially better than what I can imagine myself!

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 16:25

In order to receive God’s best, we have to make free will decisions to choose God’s best. When we live in the purity of the Holy Spirit, we should do better at staying on a straight and narrow path. The traction and momentum gained on the right path is because we’re less apt to give in to temptations that take us off the road. Also, we should be quick to correct things we’ve done wrong as a result of having a conditioned heart to love and please God. Along this path that is less popular, we pick up spiritual treasures that help us accomplish more than we could have ever imagined ourselves achieving in this lifetime. In this manner we power up with purity while anything ungodly slows us down. Remember, God is looking for how well we’re dressed in His Word so that He can put His stamp of approval on our endeavors. It’s His Word, not anything else, that will not return to Him void.

These treasures that we pick up when we’re aligned with the character of God include vision, creativity, boldness, wisdom, understanding, anointing, and power to do great exploits in the name of Jesus Christ. The benefits of living life for God goes on and on! We drink at a well that never runs dry!

The way to achieve this supernatural abundance is completely abandoning our own way to embrace the perfection of God… We need God’s input on EVERYTHING from how we handle all of our relationships, to financial stewardship, down to how we regard ourselves… it all boils down to the question of how pure our mindsets, motives, and spirits are. We have to get good at casting down thoughts that arise in our minds so that they are subjected to the Word of God.

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NIV

Destined Initiative:

Take a moment to reflect on how you treat people? Is it your way or no way or do you have patience, love, and compassion enough to work with people? Are you forgiving? Do you love people who are hard to love unconditionally?

Have you dedicated your life to building God’s Kingdom? Or do you have your own agenda?

Are you a workaholic, indirectly avoiding the issues you have at home? Is everyday solely about making more money?

What’s blocking your purity? Whatever is blocking your purity is also blocking your destiny!!

There is a reason why God requires purity… Because there is Power in Purity! And believe me when I say purity is possible!

Do you want to achieve more than you could ever think or imagine? Then make intimate and consistent time with God a priority! Strive to be pure, strive for perfection, press towards the mark! Go get that life!!!!

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV

Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super-abundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us. EPHESIANS 3:20 AMP

Let’s Pray

Jesus, thank you for making it possible for me to lift up holy hands unto You. Anything in my life that is blocking me from spiritually progressing into the life You’ve destined for me, show it to me and give me the grace to give it up to become more like You. I surrender to your power. I submit to Your standard of purity in all that I do.

Amen

Oh God that we may take hold of this purity made available through the purchase of your blood! Animosity, anger fits, and quarelling fall short of your standard of purity as you say in Ephes 4:31. Yet how easy it is to willingly give into animosity in the face of injustice! Thank you for the power of prayer that guards the heart. Thank you for this beautiful topic Natalia!

We pray for peace in the middle of storms, self-control even as we’re pushed to the end of our fleshly limit, temperance, patience, long suffering… These are your perfect attributes embodied in your Holy Spirit that lives within us!
